"The Arrivals – with style ethos based on minimalism, functionality, and ingenuity, have collaborated with like-minded individuals to show off their coveted outerwear. The joint forces of Stylish Gambino & The Arrivals have created a photo editorial that is just as much about the clothes being worn as it is about those wearing them. Seen as a project to bring light to innovative technologies and those who make use of them, here is a brief background to the individuals behind the creative team who brought you this shoot:
Modeled by Jessi Frederick, who styled the shoot with designs of her own and pieces from her Grandmother’s closet. The clothing featured under The Arrivals’ pieces were created with raw hems, organic fabrics, and simple silhouettes to compliment and juxtapose the structural jackets worn over them. Jessi is the founder & editor of Stylish Gambino, and co-founder of The Current Residents; an accessories brand that prides itself on creating the ideal accents to compliment your life and style, all made with the use of a 3D printer.
Modeled by Will Haude, founder & head designer of 3DBrooklyn, a 3D printing company based in Bushwick, Brooklyn. 3D printing has become such a revolutionary industry in itself, that is changing the way other industries function. 3DBrooklyn efficiently creates products and gadgets to equip your life, and solve any problems in it; turning your bathroom sink into a drinking fountain, your iPhone into a properly mounted wall clock, or turning recycled bottles and capri sun juice pouches into reusable plastic. Will is also the co-founder of The Current Residents, with Jessi.
Photographed by Daniela Spector, a photographer who specializes in portraiture, with a focus pillared by the decisive moment. Daniela explores narratives through light driven photos, with hints of visual alliteration.
This shoot was assisted by Mckenzie Dowler, and shot at Pier 62 Skate Park located in Chelsea Piers, New York City. Complimenting the combination of architecture and structured lines, with organic silhouettes."
